Hello! Thank you for joining us on our adoption journey.

On this blog, we will be posting a few things on a regular basis:

Prayer Requests: This can be a long process requiring a lot of patience and flexibility. We are working with a wonderful agency that is helping us navigate each step, but every adoption process is unique, and we won’t always know what to expect until we are experiencing it.

We believe in the power of prayer, and as we walk this road your prayers will provide great support and help. We will be asking for prayer for us, the birth family, and our agency. We will dig into this a bit more in a post to come.

Updates: While there are many details we may not be able to share with you due to confidentiality and out of care for others who are a part of this journey, we will be sharing updates as often as we can regarding the pieces we can share- such as home study updates, process updates, etc.

Adoption Education: Every adoption is unique with various complexities, and that can raise a lot of questions. We feel led to share with you the ins and outs of our adoption and answer your questions along the way. We plan to discuss topics such as open adoption, transracial adoption, helpful and hurtful terminology, the home study process, common misconceptions, etc.

We feel sharing these things is important for a few reasons: to equip our community with language and knowledge that supports and honors our future child and their birth family, to share an honest look at adoption in hopes that our communities and world would start to understand it more and to invite you into a full picture of our journey.

While we are by no means experts, we have learned and are learning a lot, and we believe that sharing it with you is important. If you have questions, please email us at [email protected] and we will take time to answer you there OR here on the blog.

We value community and know it takes a village to raise a child. The uniqueness of adoption puts an extra emphasis on community; for the child, birth parents, adoptive parents, and every family member surrounding each of them. This is not something we can or desire to do alone, and are thankful for your support. Thank you for being here and taking the time to walk with us in this season of life.
